Kristin has been involved in and dedicated to the showing of American Quarter Horses since the age of seven. Kristin has competed in three American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup teams travelling to Amarillo, Texas in 2006, Ontario, Canada in 2008 and Oklahoma City, USA in 2010.
Kristin has competed at Sydney's NPHA and in two Trans Tasman Challenges. Kristin holds numerous National Titles, High Point Awards and Register of Merits in all events of our discipline both English and Western. Kristin has achieved success with many horses of varying ages and experience.
Throughout her riding career Kristin has taken all opportunities to attend and learn from visiting International clinicians. To obtain further knowledge Kristin travelled to reining trainer Warwick Schiller in Young, Australia (2010) completing a one month Internship.
This was followed by a three month internship with professional horseman Mark Shaffer in Issaquah, Washington, USA where Kristin had the opportunity to learn up to date Pleasure Training techniques.
In March, 2011 Kristin joined Kyle Ranch, Whitesboro, Texas to spend six months with this great professional team. She has had the opportunity to ride many different reining horses and travel to shows throughout Texas.
Thanks to Pete Kyle Kristin secured a lease on Jim McCutcheon's 4 year old mare "One Hot Chic" and became the first New Zealand Youth to compete in the prestigious Youth World Show. With class entries numbering 118 Kristin achieved a creditable place in the semi finals missing out on the finals by 1/2 a point. Kristin and "One Hot Chic" went on to compete in the Cow Town Classic, Fort Worth, Texas winning the Green Reiner level 1 and 2.
2011 Kristin returned to Kyle Ranch to help at both the AQHA World Show and Futurity, Oklahoma City.
October 2012. Kristin returned to Kyle Ranch to help again at both the AQHA World Show and NZRH Futurity, Oklahoma City.
Kristin will be travelling to Normandy in August to catch up with friends and watch the World Equestrian Games.
Kristin resides on over sixty rolling acres bordering the Whitford forest, numerous riding trails, ferry accessing Auckland City and East Auckland Beaches on the doorstep.
Property includes round pen, ample truck or trailer parking, a huge outdoor all weather arena providing up to date and functional training facilities and Equine breeding facility.
